Wisconsin sheriff calls reported sighting of Jayme Closs in Miami 'not credible'

Police in Miami, Florida tweeted information about a possible sighting of 13-year-old Jayme Closs, who is missing and believed abducted out of Barron, Wisconsin.

An AMBER Alert was issued after Closs was missing and her parents were found shot dead in their home around 12:53 a.m. Monday morning

WSVN 7News, the FOX affiliate in Miami, is working to see if surveillance footage from the gas station where the sighting occurred is available.

Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald told Fox 9 he finds the reported sighting in Miami to be "not credible." His office is following it up as a tip, but doubts the timing of it all. How Closs could have made it from Barron to Miami without flying has not been explained. Her alleged sighting was about 15 hours after the police responded to her home and according to Google Maps the drive would take about 26 hours.

Anyone with knowledge of Jayme's whereabouts is asked to call the Barron County Sheriff's Department at 715-537-3106.
