The 1st widespread frost arrives in Minnesota

While parts of northern Minnesota have seen a light frost already this season, many of us had not… until now of course.  Most of us awakened to a frosty glaze on the grass and our windshields Saturday morning.  This may seem a bit early, but it’s not.  In fact, the metros average first freeze is in the first 10 days of October, and MSP airport only dropped to 36 degrees Saturday morning holding off our official first freeze… for now.  Here are some of the morning lows from across the area Saturday where much of western Minnesota experienced our first freeze.
