Teen charged with murder in Mounds Park gang shooting
ST. PAUL, Minn. (KMSP) - An 18-year-old has now been charged with second-degree murder for allegedly firing the shot that killed another teenager at Mounds Park in St. Paul, Minn. on April 17.
According to an amended complaint failed in Ramsey County District Court, Rayvion Trebor Brooks, an alleged member of the gang “Forever After Money,” now faces six charges including second-degree murder and second-degree murder for the benefit of a gang. He was initially charged with one count of committing a crime for benefit of a gang and one count of first-degree riot.
He pleaded not guilty to charges on Wednesday and his bail was elevated to $500,000.
St. Paul police responded to the park that Sunday on a report of a large crowd and possible shooting, describing a “chaotic scene” with as many as 300 people gathered in the area.
They found the victim, 18-year-old Bobby Collins of St. Paul, dead at the scene from a gunshot wound that entered the back of his head. Witnesses testimony and DNA evidence collected from bullet fragments found in his head directed investigators toward Brooks as the man who fired the fatal shot.
