(FOX 9) - The person responsible for shooting and ultimately killing a dog in Belle Plaine Township, Minnesota turned themselves in, the dog owners said Friday.
Authorities have not identified the suspect.
According to Mike Fontaine, his dog Kirby, a white German Shepherd, was found in a ditch Monday suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Kirby later died of his injuries.
Since then, authorities have been searching for the person responsible.
On Monday morning, Fontaine's neighbor reported seeing a vehicle enter the property, then heard gunshots and saw the vehicle leave. He described the vehicle as a late 2000s gray pickup truck with a slightly lifted body, “knobby” tires, and red circles around hub caps.
