State Patrol looking for car in Belle Plaine hit-and-run death

The Minnesota State Patrol is looking for a 2010 to 2012 Ford Fusion or Mercury Milan believed to be involved in a hit-and-run crash that killed a Belle Plaine, Minn. man on Highway 169. The crash happened at about 5:15 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 14 in the northbound lanes of Highway 169 at Belle Plaine Trail.

Derek Fath, 29, was walking in the area when he was struck and killed. Anyone who may have been involved or witnessed the crash is asked to call the Minnesota State Patrol at 651-582-1503.

Fath is survived by his 2-year-old son, Tucker, parents Deb and Jim Fath, his girlfriend Ashley, his sister Sarah and her husband Russell, and a dog named Remy.
