Snowmobile driver hits beaver dam, rolls in northern Minnesota

BYUCK, Minn. (FOX 9) - A snowmobile driver was injured Friday evening after he hit a beaver dam in northern Minnesota.
At about 5:38 p.m., St. Louis County sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the Vermillion River Tavern in Buyck on a report of a snowmobile crash with injuries.
According to authorities, the driver was riding with a larger group on the Voyageur and Arrowhead Trail system coming from the tavern toward Elephant Lake. The driver, a 69-year-old man from Rogers, struck a snow-covered beaver dam and rolled. He was thrown from his snowmobile, but was able to ride back to the tavern where he received medical care.
His injuries are considered non-life threatening.
