Police: Red Wing vandals cause $45K in damage
RED WING, Minn. (FOX 9) - Two teens in Red Wing, Minnesota, are accused of causing thousands of dollars in damage after shooting at multiple vehicles with a BB gun.
The two 18-year-old Red Wing men are now charged with first-degree damage to property and carrying a BB gun in a public place.
Police say they received multiple complaints of damage to vehicles between the night of Oct. 20 and Oct. 22. Officers estimate the men caused about $45,000 in damage, according to a news release. Criminal charges list 22 vehicles as damaged from BB gun. Officers were able to connect the incidents to a 1994 Cadillac Deville, which ultimately led them to the suspects.
Speaking with deputies, the charges state one of the teens admitted to being involved in the vandalism but only admitted to damaging nine vehicles on Buchanan Street.
Both teens were booked into the Goodhue County Jail.
