Police: Fentanyl found in packaging of Barbie Dolls at Missouri store

Police in Missouri are continuing their investigation after fentanyl was found in the packaging of Barbie Dolls at a discount store.

The Independence Police Department (IPD) says on Saturday they were contacted by Cargo Largo security after a powder substance was discovered taped inside the back packaging of the Barbie Doll.
What we know:
The IPD says they determined the substance was fentanyl and immediately began working with Cargo Largo to determine how many of the units were sold. The investigation determined that five Barbie Dolls with fentanyl were sold and IOD says they were able to track down all five units. IPD says they are working to locate the fifth Barbie Doll that was sold.
IPD says they believe no other compromised units were sent to other retailers. No injuries have been reported and IPD says the case remains an active investigation.
Cargo Largo is a retail and e-commerce outlet located in Independence, MO, that sells more than 800,000 distinct products annually through multiple sales channels including a retail store in Independence.
