Twins fire Rocco Baldelli after 7 seasons
The Minnesota Twins on Monday fired Rocco Baldelli as manager after seven seasons. FOX 9's Pierre Noujaim joined The Afternoon Shift to break down the move and what it means for the franchise going forward.
MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - After another disappointing season last year, which led to the departures of Rocco Baldelli and Derek Falvey, the Minnesota Twins hope to win fans back to the stands by announcing promotional deals and themed nights this summer.

What we know:
The Twins released their initial 2026 promotional calendar on Thursday, aimed at "enhancing value and the fan experience at Target Field all season long."
Included in the deals are $2 pregame beers at all games for MyTwins Choice and Reserved Members (the deal opens to all fans on Friday and Saturday nights), free ice cream for kids on Sundays and giveaways throughout the season that include hats, bobbleheads, backpacks and more.
A Friday night happy hour will also offer $2 hot dogs and $2 snacks, with live music from a band or DJ.
As part of Kids Day, kids 12 and under will be given the free ice cream deal, while also having the option of half-price kids’ meals and the opportunity to run the bases postgame – a similar perk the St. Paul Saints have long offered.
The Twins will also continue to offer Value Menu items under $6 every game, which include $1 hot dogs every Tuesday, a Family Section with a free hot dog and soda and all-inclusive seating featuring all-you-can-eat ballpark staples.

Derek Falvey, Minnesota Twins mutually part ways after 9 seasons
Derek Falvey and the Minnesota Twins announced Friday they were mutually parting ways after nine seasons. Falvey spoke with reporters about the decision via Zoom.
