Medical examiner identifies man allegedly stabbed to death by 'longtime' friend

HOPKINS, Minn. (FOX 9) - Authorities have identified the man who was allegedy stabbed to death by his longtime friend in Hopkins, Minnesota Friday.
The victim, Clayton Kartak, 66, died of multiple sharp force and blunt force injuries, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner.
Kartak's friend, 62-year-old Daniel Johnson, is charged in his death. The charges allege Johnson stabbed Kartak to death with a butcher's knife while the two were hanging out at Kartak's apartment. Johnson was drunk and had eaten some "pot gummies" at the time of the murder.
Johnson's son said he had been depressed lately because this is the time of year, his wife and other son died. Other witnesses say the two friends routinely got together to get drunk and consume marijuana together and that there were no known issues between the two.
