K-9 officer takes Oath of Office in Maple Grove, Minn.

MAPLE GROVE, Minn. (KMSP) - Maple Grove Police have a new, fluffy officer now on duty.

On Monday, K-9 officer Calo took his Oath of Office with his handler Officer Keith Stuart. Calo, 2, graduated basic K-9 school in May and has been assigned to patrol duties since early June.

Calo came to Maple Grove from the St. Paul canine training center, but was born and raised in Poland! However, Calo’s trainer said he has not been speaking Polish to Calo.

“It's fantastic being the person selected for it; it is fantastic to have this fellow to be my partner.  He’s become my buddy and my friend, and to go to work every day with your friend in your car with you... just can't beat that,” Officer Stuart said.
