Image of Syrian boy a reflection of war-ravaged Aleppo

Syrian opposition activists have released video footage showing a young boy sitting in an ambulance after his rescue from a building hit by an airstrike in Aleppo. A screenshot of this video has gone viral. A Syrian Civil Defense volunteer rescue worker confirmed the boy, identified as 5-year-old Omran Daqneesh, was being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

An hour after his rescue, the building the boy was in collapsed, the Associated Press reported.

Russia ready for cease-fire

The Russian military says it's ready to join a United Nations call for weekly, 48-hour cease-fires as soon as next week. The cease-fires would allow humanitarian aid deliveries to Aleppo. Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov said Russia would support the cease-fires on the condition the aid trucks travel to both rebel-controlled and government-controlled sectors of Aleppo, and that Russia receive guarantees of safe passage from the U.S military.
