As FOX 9's Jeff Passolt time on the anchor desk comes to a close, gratitude and words of kindness are pouring in to honor his legacy. Passolt is retiring after 23 years with the station.

Eden Prairie Mayor Ron Case declared Thursday as "Jeff Passolt Day" to honor Passolt's dedication to the station and community. FOX 9's studio is located in Eden Prairie.

"In general, it honors Jeff for his honor to his commitment to his community, his leadership, kindness and humor and the fact that he's made a lasting contribution to the Twin Cities community," said Case. "We're proud of you in Eden Prairie as a favorite son, we wish you the best in the next phase of your life."

Viking Drive also briefly became "Passolt Way" in his honor.

Passolt's last day on the news desk is Sunday.
