Secretary Pete Hegseth shared the latest on military operations in the Middle East on Monday morning. This comes as lawmakers in Washington will be briefed for the first time on this matter. 

The conflict in the Middle East reached its third day on Monday. Secretary Pete Hegseth and General Dan Caine discussed the lead-up and execution of Operation Epic Fury. This comes as we learn four U.S. service members have been killed in action, with CAine saying we can expect more losses.

Secretary Pete Hegseth and Air Force Gen. Dan Caine provided an update from the Pentagon on Monday on the strikes on Iran. 

Air Force Gen. Dan Caine provides a timeline of the United States' attacks on Iran so far as part of Operation Epic Fury. He said this was not a single overnight operation, and they expect to take additional losses. Their mission is to "protect and defend ourselves" and prevent Iran from projecting power outside of its borders.

Iranians in the Twin Cities gathered in downtown Minneapolis on Sunday to celebrate major developments in the Middle East following the death of Supreme Leader Khamenei. While many Iranian-Americans expressed hope for regime change, anti-war protesters also took to the streets to condemn the military strikes, with some members of Minnesota’s DFL delegation calling the operation "unlawful" and "illegal."

Community groups rallied at Nicollet Mall and 11th Street to express hope for regime change after news that Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, was killed in Saturday’s airstrikes.

President Trump provided a major update on Operation Epic Fury in Iran, confirming the death of former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei and the destruction of nine Iranian naval ships. During the address, Trump also announced the tragic loss of three U.S. military service members killed in action. As combat operations continue in full force, Trump issued a stark warning to the Iranian military to surrender or face "certain death," while urging Iranian citizens to take back their country.
