The Northrop Mall is a historic landmark on the Twin Cities campus of the University of Minnesota. Among the buildings that shape the landscape is Morrill Hall, a building that is home to the university?s administrative offices but also the site of a significant moment in Black history.

While it?s still too early to start planting in Minnesota, it?s never too early to bring a pop of spring color into your home. FOX 9's Garden Guy Dale K. has the details.

Whether there?s snow, rain or it?s hot or cold Adele?s Frozen Custard has opened on March 1 for the last 38 years, though there was one year they couldn?t open because of a blizzard. This year, they?re expecting big crowds for the warmest opening weekend on record for Adele?s. The custard is the same recipe they?ve had since 1986 though they?ve added new flavors to the menu. The custard is made fresh every day. Unlike ice cream, the air is whipped out of it instead of put into it and it?s made with egg yolks which gives it a velvety texture. Adele?s will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. through the day before Thanksgiving.

In this week's On the Map, FOX 9's Karen Scullin takes us to a portion of the Yellowstone Trail in Olivia, Minnesota. The Yellowstone Trail was created for car drivers in 1912. The route went coast to coast in the northern part of the U.S.

A bar dedicated to women?s sports opens March 1 in Minneapolis. It?s a first in the Midwest. A Bar of their Own is taking over the Tracy?s Saloon space in the Seward neighborhood. Owner Jillian Hiscock says she and others took note of The Sports Bra?s historic opening in Portland last year, the nation?s first bar exclusively showing women?s sports. She kept waiting for it to happen here and never imagined she would be the one to take on that task. A Bar of their Own is the result of a successful crowdfunding campaign and will regularly be open Wednesday to Sunday. They?ll be serving the beloved chicken wings from Tracy?s Saloon along with offering vegan and gluten free options.

For nearly 70 years, St Peter Claver Catholic School has been an anchor in St. Paul's African American community. But one of the products of this neighborhood institution has been a pillar of the school as well. Lynn Wright has spent nearly half her life roaming these halls. As the scholar and family liaison, she is responsible for discipline. But she is also there to lend a helping hand wherever she is needed.

The Midwinter Folk Festival will take place March 2-3 at the American Swedish Institute. There will be music, dancing, demos, classes and workshops. It?s a big enough event that they?ll be utilizing ASI and the Cedar Cultural Center for the shows. Day one of the festival focuses on Nordic-Inspired folk music and performance. Day two will highlight folk dance from Norway, Finland and Sweden.
