During the State of the Union address, President Trump honored Charlie Kirk and his widow Erika, while saying the nation must “totally reject political violence of any kind.”

Saying that her and a group of Democrat lawmakers should be “ashamed of themselves” for not standing up after he spoke on immigration enforcement, President Trump traded words with Rep. Ilhan Omar, who could be heard shouting back at him from the crowd, during the State of the Union address.

While blaming Democrats for a current shutdown, President Trump demanded that lawmakers restore the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and services for “people to shovel snow,” during his State of the Union address.

President Trump called Minnesota a "stunning" example of corruption in the United States. 

Trump says he has negotiated a “rate payer protection pledge” that says tech companies have the “obligation to provide for their own power needs” as part of data center operations, while addressing a new policy to make homeownership more affordable at the State of the Union address.

Trump applauds his use of tariffs to take in “hundreds of billions of dollars” from countries that were “ripping us off” during the State of the Union address. In the process, he also criticized the Supreme Court ruling against his administration’s use of them, while saying companies will continue to honor the deals. If not, he says his administration will seek “alternative legal routes” to uphold them.

While praising the “largest tax cuts in history,” President Trump slammed Democrats for voting against the Big Beautiful Bill, while also promoting new Trump Accounts for youth investments.

As part of his State of the Union address, President Trump touts America’s economy, including the production of his “drill baby drill” agenda, Venezuela’s ability to “produce 80 million barrels of oil,” and that his administration “ended DEI.”

Trump says America is not “great again like never before,” touting the “strongest border in American history” while claiming that “zero illegal” immigrants have been admitted into the U.S. in the last nine months during his State of the Union address.
