Erika Mrazik
Erika’s relationship with meteorology goes all the way back to her early days at the breakfast table before school. She used to read the weather section in the newspaper every day and would conduct her own observations on the "feels like" temperature when she was a kid by sticking her hand out the window to figure out what to wear. When she was younger, she would call her parents on their business trips to inquire about the weather, and she even stored hail in her freezer.
A Pennsylvania native, Erika grew up in the suburbs of Pittsburgh and then moved to the Midwest to attend …THE… Ohio State University. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Atmospheric Sciences in 2024 with a minor in Dance. While in school, Erika competed on the nationally ranked Club Dance Team at Ohio State. She was also active in several weather-related organizations and earned the Dr. Jeffrey C. Rogers Outstanding Student Award on behalf of Chi Epsilon Pi Atmospheric Sciences Honor Society.
Before moving to Minnesota, Erika forecasted in east central Ohio, north central West Virginia, and middle Tennessee through various internships and jobs. She is so excited to now call the Land of 10,000 Lakes her new home and can’t wait to check out all of the trails, parks and restaurants around the area. She loves to do anything and everything outside, whether it be hiking, skiing, walking, biking, or even having a relaxing day on her porch.
