Woman injured in ATV crash, alcohol believed to be a factor

A young woman was injured in an ATV crash Saturday in Esko, Minnesota.

According to the Carlton County Sheriff's Office, at about 11:57 p.m., authorities received a report of an ATV crash on Wagon Road near the intersection of Larson Road.

When they arrived, officials found a woman on the ground suffering from injuries she sustained in a crash. She has been a identified as a 20-year-old woman from Roseville, Minn.

The extent of her injuries is unknown at this time.

Officials believe the victim was a passenger on the ATV. The operator was a 20-year-old man from Esko.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash. The operator is being held at the Carlton County Jail on the charge of criminal vehicular operation and driving while impaired.
