Wanted suspects found hiding in floodwaters near Fargo, N.D.

Deputies apprehended two people wanted on arrest warrants Monday who were hiding from law enforcement in floodwaters near Fargo, North Dakota.

At 11:30 a.m., two deputies were patrolling an area near Harwood when they saw two vehicles stuck on a maintenance road surrounded by water, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office. Two of the people from the vehicles walked to the deputies and told them the other two people in the vehicles, a 39-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man, possibly had active warrants.

The pair with the possible active warrants left the vehicles and headed towards a flowing drainage ditch and a washed out roadway.

Deputies used ATVs to access the area and located the two suspects completely submerged in the water trying to conceal themselves.

They were treated for possible hypothermia and eventually taken to the Cass County Jail, where they are being held on their active warrants, including probation and parole violations.
