Minnesota issued 66K permits to carry in 2018, up from 2017

ST. PAUL, Minn. (FOX 9) - Over 66,000 people were issued permits to carry in Minnesota in 2018.
The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension released their 2018 Permit to Carry Report and it showed about an 11,000 permit increase over 2017. The number of permits issued was over 71,000 in 2016.
The report released data on permits issued for every year dating back to 2014.
2018 – 66,053 permits issued
2017 – 55,069 permits issued
2016 – 71,156 permits issued
2015 – 44,696 permits issued
2014 – 41,493 permits issued
Hennepin and Anoka counties were first and second in the state in most permits issued by county.
As of 2019, there are 290,546 valid permits to carry in Minnesota.
