Fire rekindles at Whittier apartment building, cause under investigation
MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - The Minneapolis Fire Department is investigating the cause of fire at an apartment building in the Whittier neighborhood of Minneapolis early Tuesday morning.
Crews first responded to a fire in a three-story residential building the 2400 block of Pleasant Avenue South around 3:45 a.m. A small fire was located in the wall behind an electrical outlet on the first flood. By 4 a.m., the fire department believed the fire was under control.
Shortly before 5 a.m., crews returned to the same house, where the fire was now on the third floor. Firefighters also located fire in the wall on the second floor.
The fire was upgraded to a second alarm.
The fire was under control by 7 a.m. No one was injured.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
