Dolly Parton fans urging US Postal Service to honor her with a stamp

Dolly Parton sold over 100 million records and earned 11 Grammy Awards and 55 nominations during her decades-long career and was also an avid philanthropist. Fans on social media are urging the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) to honor her with a stamp.
Posts on Facebook and Reddit are hoping USPS will act quickly to honor the global superstar.

Over the years, the USPS has honored numerous individuals on postage stamps, ranging from historical figures and presidents to civil rights leaders, artists, writers, and athletes.
Several people from the world of entertainment — Elvis Presley, Betty White, Lucille Ball, Paul Newman, Frank Sinatra, James Stewart — have been honored with stamps.

USPS says they have received numerous requests for a Dolly Parton stamp this week and appreciate the public’s input and encourage people to write to the Citizens’ Stamp Advisory Committee (CSAC) with stamp ideas.
What they're saying:
"Each year, the Postal Service receives tens of thousands of suggestions for new stamps. Of those, roughly 25 to 30 topics are selected each year," said James McKean, U.S. Postal Service Sr. Public Relations Representative. "With a limited number of postage stamps to be issued each year, CSAC makes every effort to celebrate different aspects of U.S. history and culture."

USPS says the CSAC committee is appointed by the Postmaster General and consists of individuals having a background in history, science, technology, art, education, sports, and other subjects of public interest who follow stamp selection criteria to determine which ideas submitted are eligible for commemoration on all U.S. stamps and stationery.
