Ambulance carrying patient hit by car on MN 65 in Fridley

A car crashed into an ambulance as it was crossing the intersection of Minnesota Highway 65 and Osborne Road in Fridley, Minnesota early Saturday morning. 

The crash occurred shortly after 5 a.m. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, an Allina Ambulance, which was carrying a patient at the time, was westbound on Osborne Road when it was struck by a 2005 Buick Le Sabre driving northbound on Highway 65. 

The ambulance overturned, but no one was significantly injured. 

The driver of the Buick was cited. 

The crash remains under investigation.
