University of Minnesota brings on the spirit for Gopher football
MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) - More than 5,700 incoming freshmen at the University of Minnesota attended the Pride & Spirit event at TCF bank Stadium on Wednesday night to kick off the football season kicking off on Thursday.
Head Football Coach Jerry Kill, the Spirit Squad, the U of M Marching Band and Goldy Gopher all contributed to rev up the students. Students learned all the cheers, chants and songs for Gopher game days.
The class of 2019 formed a giant, human-made block 'M' on the field for an incredible photo which has been tradition since TCF Bank Stadium first opened in 2009.
The Gophers will take on No. 2 ranked TCU at 8 p.m. on Thursday at home. The game will be televised on ESPN.
