Plant-based caf� Heal Minneapolis is now open
Heal Minneapolis, a plant-based cafe, is now open in North Minneapolis. The restaurant got its start in 2020 after the murder of George Floyd when friends got together to serve hundreds of plant-based meals to people in Minneapolis. They scaled that up to open Heal Minneapolis, which is open Monday-Saturday.

Each year, the Dahlia Society of Minnesota plants a new selection of hybrid dahlias in the Dahlia Trial Garden at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, which is one of eight trial gardens in North America. The flowers in the trial garden aren't available to buy for home gardeners -- yet. The judges will evaluate each flower to determine if it's worthy.

The 22,000-square-foot space at 2605 Fernbrook Lane N boasts an indoor dog park, veterinary hospital, wine bar, coffee shop, restaurant and "pet retreat" with boarding, daycare, grooming, and training ? the idea is to have everything for your pet under one roof.

Andrew Israels-Swenson, whose mom is British, was the first American to see the queen's coffin as she lies in state in London ahead of her funeral. Lines to pay repects to the queen have stretched miles, with people waiting up to 24 hours.

KFAN’S Dan Barreiro is being inducted into the Minnesota Broadcasting Hall of Fame on Saturday, Sept. 17, at the Pavek Museum in St. Louis Park. He and four other well-known radio personalities in the Twin Cities are being honored for their work. Barreiro is a long-time host of his drive-time radio show on weekdays on KFAN.
