Shooting in school parking lot
New details:
The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office responded to the parking lot of Stewartville High School and Middle School to investigate a shooting that happened around 5 a.m. on Friday.
At the scene, deputies learned two people had been shot in the parking lot. Officials say a high school student was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital by ambulance, and immediately rushed into surgery. He is in critical but stable condition.
The initial investigation indicates a bus was in front of the school getting ready to transport the wrestling team to a meet. The victim, a member of the wrestling team, was located on the ground when a second shot was heard shortly after.
