Shooting near Grand Casino Arena, RiverCentre: Latest
Saying that "St. Paul is a safe city," police chief Axel Henry provides the latest updates after a shooting during which two people were hurt in what’s been described as a chaotic scene near Grand Casino Arena and the St. Paul RiverCentre.
ST. PAUL, Minn. (FOX 9) - St. Paul police are asking for the public to send video of a shooting that left two men injured Monday night, to aid in their investigation.
St. Paul downtown shooting ‘atypical’, police chief says
What they're saying:
St. Paul Police Chief Axel Henry is calling the shooting in downtown Monday night "atypical," stating that the public can come to downtown with confidence.
Henry stated that "several" people were injured during the shooting, and police are investigating how those people were injured. Henry confirmed that two men were shot and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Henry went on to say the department will continue to keep graduations and graduation parties safe in the city after this incident.
No more arrests have been made.
The FBI and ATF are helping investigate the shooting, police said.
Police are asking for anyone from the public with video of the shooting to submit it here. Anyone with information on the shooting is encouraged to call 651-266-5680.

Downtown St. Paul shooting
The backstory:
According to St. Paul police, around 5:30 p.m. Monday evening, officers responded to multiple 911 calls reporting shots fired at the RiverCentre parking ramp.
Officers arriving on scene reported hearing active gunfire in multiple areas. Authorities say that officers were then able to secure three different scenes — outside Grand Casino Arena, the RiverCentre parking ramp, and outside the Ordway.
Two victims, both young adult males, were located suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.
Police say that three possible suspects were taken into custody a short time later.
