Search for man who went swimming in Mississippi River in St. Cloud
ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KMSP) - Authorities are searching for a man who was last seen swimming in the Mississippi River in St. Cloud, according to St. Cloud police.
Monday around 4:37 p.m., officers responded near the 700 block of 5th Avenue North. People walking in that area told police they saw a man walk into the river and start swimming as though he was going to cross to the other side. The people lost sight of him in the water when he got about halfway across.
Officials from the St. Cloud Fire Department, DNR and Stearns County Dive Team are searching the water, while the police are using a drone to look over the area.
