Call for end of violence near north Minneapolis schools after 2 shootings
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (KMSP) - Community leaders, parents and educators are holding a press conference at 1:30 p.m. to discuss growing violence near north Minneapolis schools.
This comes after the latest incident happened on Wednesday around 11 a.m. where a bullet went through a window of Sojourner Truth Academy. No one was hurt, but class was in session.
Two weeks ago, a woman was shot in the back near the intersection of Lowry Avenue and Penn Avenue north, which is about a block away from Lucy Laney Community School. It happened around 4 p.m. during an open house that brought kids and their parents to the school.
