Luigi Mangione seeking pyschiatric defense in Brian Thompson's murder

The lawyers for the accused murderer of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson plan to argue he was not of sound mind. The judge for the trial against Luigi Mangioni says his legal team is planning a psychiatric defense. They claim he was suffering from extreme emotional distress when he allegedly gunned down Thompson on a New York sidewalk in December 2024. FOX's Eric Shawn reports that if a jury accepts the defense, it could limit the amount of time Mangione spends in prison if he's convicted.
