Bike shop teams up with neighborhood to save historic home
A bike shop in Northeast Minneapolis has rallied the community to help them save a historic home in the neighborhood. The John Cook House was built in 1889 in the Queen Anne style at 948 18th Ave NE. It's one of very few remaining from that time. The home was in bad shape with plans to turn it into a parking lot until Recovery Bike Shop started fundraising to save the home with plans to restore it. They should officially own the home by the end of June and then the work begins.
