Minnesota celebrates Indigenous Peoples' Day
Minnesota is one of several states that has dropped Columbus Day in favor of Indigenous Peoples' Day. The state celebrated Indigenous People's Day on Monday with a sunrise ceremony at Bde Maka Ska, a parade in St. Paul and a presentation with Gov. Tim Walz and Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan, the nation's first Native American woman to be elected lieutenant governor.
