At the DNC summer meeting, Sen. John Hoffman spoke about the targeted shooting on June 14 that left him and his wife wounded and Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband dead. Sen. Hoffman called the shooting ?pure evil? and a political attack on public servants and public service, saying it was aimed squarely at their party.
