
Archbishop Hebda 'surprised' American pope was elected
Archbishop Bernard A. Hebda of the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis spoke Thursday after the new Pope Leo XIV was introduced at the Vatican. Pope Leo XIV, formerly Cardinal Robert Prevost, is the first pope from the United States. He's from Chicago. Hebda said he was "surprised" an American pope was elected, and that he has "great confidence" in Pope Leo.
