SPPD Officer Reilly awarded Medal of Valor: 'This is long overdue'

St. Paul Police Chief Axel Henry called it a blessing to have known Officer Felicia Reilly, and noted she has been awarded the Medal of Valor. Officer Reilly died from injuries sustained in the line of duty in 2010. Reilly was attacked while responding to a 911 hang-up call in March 2010. She was repeatedly kicked and assaulted by the suspect, sustaining injuries that ended her career. Her condition from those injuries worsened over the past 15 years. She died March 1.
