Minnesota lawmakers focus on student attendance

Minnesota students are heading back to school in just a couple of weeks. In preparation there's a focus by lawmakers at the state capitol, concentrating on student attendance and truancy. They held a first in-person meeting last week. Representative Heather Keeler (DFL- Moorhead) describes what lawmakers hope to learn, and how she wants to see Minnesota laws on the subject change. The next hearing, which will be virtual to accommodate those in Greater Minnesota, will be held on Monday, August 26, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
