Thai New Year celebration

The Songkran Festival happening at the State Capitol this weekend is the first major celebration of the Thai New Year in Minnesota! “Songkran” means “new year” and is celebrated by many southeastern Asian countries this time of year. The celebration in Minnesota will include food, dance performances by a Thai performance group from the Chiangmai Cultural Exchange and performances by Thai pop group 4 Mix and Yean Papitchaya.
