MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - Firefighters discovered a man dead inside a detached garage while responding to an early morning fire in north Minneapolis.

What we know:
Minneapolis firefighters responded to a report of flames coming from a structure on the 4700 block of Colfax Avenue North.
Arriving crews found a large fire burning in a detached garage and extinguished the flames before it could spread to nearby homes, trees or power lines.
While searching the garage, firefighters found a man dead inside. Fire officials said the man was not associated with the residents of the home, but his identity has not yet been determined. No other injuries were reported.
What we don't know:
Minneapolis fire arson investigators, police, forensic scientists and the Hennepin County Medical Examiner responded to process the scene and recovered the man's body.
The cause of the fire and the circumstances surrounding the man’s death remain under investigation.
