Hundreds of kids participate in Minne-Loppet cross-country ski race

MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - Over 400 kids came together for Minneapolis’ annual Minne-Loppet ski race Saturday.

During a warm February day, the kids showed what they learned during a 10-week program taught in their physical education classes.

Mayor Jacob Frey was on hand to celebrate the experience, witnessing the kids from 11 schools in North Minneapolis and Brooklyn Park take part in the race.

The event took place at Theodore Wirth Park as part of the City of Lakes Loppet Festival.
