Standoff in Burnsville as authorities respond to domestic incident

Burnsville police are responding to a standoff after a domestic incident. FOX 9's Leon Purvis has the latest from the scene.

Burnsville police responded to a "domestic situation" at a home on Thursday night. Officers say they then found a man dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

What we know:

According to Burnsville police, law enforcement responded to a domestic situation at a home which led to a standoff. 

Officers secured the scene after they found a man dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Authorities said public safety teams were in the 200 block of Carriage Lane and that the public should avoid the area.

There was no shelter-in-place issued by the authorities.

Aerial footage showed several emergency vehicles parked near a home.

What we don't know:

Authorities have not released details on what led to the domestic incident.
