MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - A 3-month-old baby was found safe Tuesday night after a car was stolen from a day care parking lot, but the suspect still remains at large.

What we know:
Minneapolis police responded to the 900 block of Plymouth Avenue North just after 8 p.m. on reports that a man had taken a vehicle from a day care parking lot while the infant remained in the backseat.
A large, multi-agency search was quickly launched with assistance from Hennepin County Sheriff's deputies, State Patrol flight, Minneapolis traffic agents, and the Minneapolis Fire Department. Authorities used city cameras, license plate readers, drones, and a coordinated grid search to track the vehicle.
By 8:25 p.m., authorities issued a statewide alert to law enforcement about the stolen vehicle and the infant. Police said they also worked with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension to prepare an Amber Alert, but the child was located before it was issued.
Around 9:21 p.m., officers found the vehicle near the 1500 block of Bryant Avenue North. The baby was found safe inside and was reunited with their mother. EMS evaluated the child at the scene.
K-9 and law enforcement searched the area but did not locate the suspect, who fled before officers arrived. Police said forensic teams processed the car and collected evidence at the scene.
What we don't know:
Police did not say how the car was stolen, and the incident remains under investigation. No arrests have been made as of Wednesday morning.
