9-hour standoff in Le Sueur ends with juvenile rescued, man arrested

Main Street in Le Sueur, Minnesota was closed with a heavy police presence for much of Saturday as police negotiated with a man barricaded inside of a house on Main Street.

Timeline:

A standoff lasted about 9 hours, from an initial report at 3 p.m. to a resolution just before midnight.

What we know:

Shortly before 3 p.m. Saturday, police took a report of a possible domestic situation in progress at a home on the 400 block of South Main Street.

As officers responded, a man barricaded himself inside the home along with a juvenile.

Shortly before midnight, officers were able the get the juvenile out of the home and took the man into custody.

The scene was secured, but Le Sueur police say the public can expect some activity in the area on Main Street through Sunday morning until the scene is cleared.
