One person is dead after authorities say a utility pole fell onto a car in Hopkins, Minn. causing it to catch fire.
HOPKINS, Minn. (FOX 9) - Authorities say one person is dead after a utility pole fell on a vehicle in Hopkins Sunday afternoon.

What we know:
The Hopkins Police and Fire Departments responded just before 5 p.m. to the scene on the 300 block of Blake Road North. Authorities say a utility pole fell on a vehicle, which subsequently caught fire.
Authorities say one person was inside the vehicle when the pole hit the car, and the fire started. That person was pronounced dead.

Utility pole falls on vehicle in Hopkins, 1 person dead
The Hopkins Police and Fire Departments are investigating after a utility pole fell on a vehicle Sunday afternoon, leaving one person inside the car dead. Sheku Koroma, a resident who witnessed the aftermath, shared this video with FOX 9.
What we don't know:
The victim has not yet been identified. What led up to the pole falling on the vehicle is under investigation.
An Xcel Energy truck was at the scene assessing the utility pole, and firefighters were able to put the car fire out.
Authorities remain on the scene Sunday night.
