Children’s Theatre Company animal puppet stories
A heroic carp is the star of a new play on stage at the Children’s Theatre Company in a show called ‘The Carp who Would not Quit and Other Animal Stories.’ It’s an interactive re-telling of traditional fables from Japan and Okinawa using three people, three traditional Japanese instruments and beautifully crafted hand puppets. Reiko Ho of the Honolulu Theatre for Youth Ensemble wrote and directed the play using stories she was told as a little girl. The show is taking place on the Cargill Stage through Feb. 18.
