Helicopter crash near Airlake Airport in Lakeville leaves no survivors

    • A helicopter crashed just west of Airlake Airport in Lakeville Saturday afternoon.
    • The crash left no survivors, officials say.

LAKEVILLE, Minn. (FOX 9) - Lakeville police responded to a helicopter crash that left no survivors Saturday afternoon.

What we know:

According to Lakeville police, officers responded to a helicopter crash just west of Airlake Airport around 2:45 p.m.

Officers found the helicopter crashed near Highview Avenue and 219th Street West. 

Lakeville city officials say there appear to be no survivors in the crash. The helicopter landed in a non-residential area so it did not impact anyone else. 

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation and Safety Board (NTSB) are investigating the crash. 

What we don't know:

It is not clear how the helicopter crashed.
