Through her theatrical and hands-on approach to teaching, Kate the Chemist is breaking down the image of the stereotypical scientist, while reaching students that might otherwise be intimidated by science. - all while diminishing the stigma around women in science.

  • STEM Art Lab: STEM + your great ideas = personalized geometric art! Use your creativity and new computer skills to make a creation of your very own!
  • Queen of Hearts: Who Will Become the Queen of Hearts? Explore a heart and learn how it functions.
  • It’s a CELLebration!  Unlock the secret code of life: In this interactive class, you will discover the secret language of life, DNA.  We will work together to crack the code of DNA with a hands-on project.   We will learn how this secret code is used by cells to make proteins which make your body move and grow.
  • Creating Clouds Workshop: Come chat about all things clouds with FOX 9’s Meteorologist Jennifer McDermed! She will share how clouds are created, the different types of clouds and how they create rain and snow. You’ll even get to create your own cloud!

Earn the Glow in the Dark 2019 Collector’s Edition FOX 9 Girls, Science & Technology patch!

  • Visit the FOX 9 Registration Table in the Science Museum Lobby to pick up a passport
  • Visit the three booths listed on the passport
  • Have the passport stamped at each location
  • Bring the completed passport back to the FOX 9 Registration Table and pick up your patch

*Patches are available while supplies last.  You must visit and receive stamps from each location in order to receive a patch. It will be at the discretion of FOX 9 whether or not incomplete passports are able to be exchanged for a patch.

Group Info for Girl Scouts:

If you’re bringing your troop to Girls, Science & Technology, advanced tickets are recommended. Admission for eight Girl Scouts will be free with two paid leaders. Call the Science Museum Box Office at 651-221-9444 to purchase advance tickets.

Parking Info for Girl Scouts:

Access the Science Museum's parking ramp from Chestnut Street. Enter the museum by taking the parking ramp elevators to the Lobby level, where the Box Office is located.  The Science Museum parking ramp does sometimes reach capacity,especially during Girls, Science & Technology. Please allow extra time to park during these times. Several other parking facilities are also located within easy walking distance of the museum. Check for alternatives at the St. Paul Smart Trips website.
