ICE's duty to pick up released criminals: MN Dept. of Corrections

Why are convicted criminals who are illegal immigrants getting back on the street in Minnesota after being released from prison? DHS and Sec. Kristi Noem claim the State of Minnesota doesn't honor detainers and the blame is on Gov. Tim Walz and Mayor Jacob Frey for allowing violent criminals to stay in Minnesota after relase. But, the MN Department of Corrections disputes that, telling FOX 9 they cooperate with ICE. In fact, DOC says it is standard practice that the agency issuing a detainer, in this case ICE, is responsible for arranging pickup of that convicted immigrant.
