Historic Hermann the German monument needs major repairs

One of the largest copper statues in the United States, Hermann the German, is in need of major repairs. The monument, which has watched over New Ulm for 129 years, is currently closed to the public after a recent inspection found crumbling rubble that poses a safety risk.
