Minnesota weather: Late October storms bring hail, funnel clouds and heavy rain

Strong storms swept across Minnesota, producing large hail, heavy rain, gusty winds and reported funnel clouds in parts of Dakota County. Video showed storm damage and severe weather near Cannon Falls, Randolph, Hampton, New Trier and Miesville. Despite the unusual late-October storms, Minnesota has recorded just 22 confirmed tornadoes this year—barely half the average.
