Fraud crackdown: 455 recently charged in healthcare fraud cases

Justice Department officials announced what they called the largest healthcare fraud takedown in U.S. history, charging 455 defendants over the past two weeks in schemes involving more than $6.5 billion in alleged false claims submitted to Medicare, Medicaid and other healthcare programs.
